Welcome to my world of astronomy. Come here to learn about my latest ideas or expeditions, to see some of the scopes, accessories and gadgets I’ve made, or to get some ideas for your own projects or adventures.

I’m seriously interested in making and using telescopes. It’s something I wanted to do most all of my life but I didn’t know this until 1999, when I discovered the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston. I had wanted to buy a ‘big’ scope, and big to me then was an 8″ (20cm) Dob I’d been eying, but with two young kids and a mortgage I couldn’t justify spending the money.  Around the same time my wife found an article in the local paper that talked about a group that made telescopes. In early January I visited their clubhouse and bought a kit for my first telescope. And then I was hooked. I spent hours every week grinding and polishing that first mirror, and thinking about the rest of the stuff I’d need to put it together.

So browse the pages and posts, learn a little, share with me and others with your comments, and most of all, please enjoy and keep looking up!
